THE CONVERSION

Rabbi: (to girl) You sure you want to do this?

Girl: Yes.  I love Herschel.  I want to spend my life with him.

Rabbi: (to girl) You understand it takes months of study.  The Talmud.  The Torah.  Hebrew school.  For you to prepare to be a Jewish wife and mother.

Girl: I’m ready.

Rabbi: You must keep a Kosher home.

Girl: It’s worth it!

Rabbi: Light candles on Shabbos (Friday nights).

Girl: I love candles!

Rabbi: Have any sons circumcised.

Girl: (to Herschel) Circumcised?  The wedding’s off!
